It’s a clammy, gloomy affair out there in NYC today. However that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be bright, and cheery, and somewhat proggy, and a bit psychedelic in your heart and earholes. Not on Ezra Koenig’s watch! New York’s native son came correct with the vibes last month, releasing “Sunflower” in batch #2 of the three two-song drops he has been teasing since mid-Jaunary in the run up to the band’s next (albeit Rostam-less) LP, Father of the Bride. It’s short and sweet, so give it a few listens and sound off in the comments with your plans for this weekend. Here, I’ll even enter the chat myself to get it started.
The missus and I are heading to Sayreville tonight for the Baroness & Deafheaven show, since we will be out of town in LA next Friday when they play in the city. Sunday is the Thou & Emma Ruth Rundle matinee at Saint Vitus. Saturday is for drinking on a balcony.
